We started UpRoot soon after Feeding the 5000 Front Range to help facilitate a holistic, healthy, economically vibrant and just food system within Colorado through gleaning, experiential education, and nonpartisan legislation.
Now in Year 3 of operations, we have rescued and distributed to hunger-relief agencies more than 110,000 servings of locally grown and nutrient-dense surplus produce from both sides of the Divide.
Mission: We measurably reduce on-farm surplus agriculture in Colorado, support the economic stability of farmers, and increase the nutritional security of our state’s residents.
Vision: Our hope is that we can co-create a Colorado foodshed that becomes more mindful, humane, self-sustaining and connected. A Colorado foodshed where everyone has access to healthy, nutrient-dense food, and where markets value farmers for what they are: a cornerstone of our society.
Investing for impact is a strategy that seeks to generate positive and measurable social and environmental impact alongside financial gains.
Our mission at Impact Driven (an early stage startup) was twofold: 1. create global awareness, build community, and accelerate adoption of impact investing by sharing original and curated content; and 2. develop and license to financial advisors portfolio tools leveraging socially responsible investments.
